This project aims to describe the transience of everything and the passing of things through time. The idea of displacing and photographing these objects almost makes them vestiges or traces of our past. It is through discovering them that I recognise the passage of time. Personal memories are sometimes evoked, some even offering vivid fragments of the past. By documenting and archiving them, I am trying to capture this evocation turning it into something new. Many are objects which have served a purpose but still retain an intrinsic quality - even beauty. The photograph serves as that evocation of memory and becomes the object itself.
Some of the images are melancholic ; there's a loneliness within them - within their isolation. They start to become less tangible, slipping away and displaying their fragility and vulnerability, with the weight of time upon them.
